Bacarra places second, after the City of Makati, for nationwide search for the Most Number of Balikbayans in the 1970s. 
The Pamulinawen song, Laoag City’s Pamulinawen Festival theme song, is a Bacarreños’ work. The lyrics were written by Isidro Castro and set to music by Julian Dacuycuy Sales and the band is conducted by Capt. Pedro Navarro which are Bacarreños.
