LGU Bacarra is in one with DENR Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO)–2, Laoag City in the coastal cleanup activity conducted May 24, 2013 at Bgy. 36, Natba this municipality.

DENR is annually celebrating "Month of the Ocean" pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 57. The theme for this year is “Ang Bahura ay Kagubatan sa Karagatan Ating Pangalagaan”.

Coastal clean up isn't just about pollution clean up, it is also pollution prevention.

People must be made aware that there will be no trashes to pick if people in the first place will not throw wastes especially the non-biodegradable ones any where much less on the beach where the waves will wash the wastes to the sea.

LGU Bacarra is 2nd Runner Up in the 2012 Search for the Cleanest, Safest and Greenest Inland Body of Water (R-I).

The Plaque of Recognition was awarded to LGU Bacarra as having been adjudged as the Second Runner Up in the 2012 Search for the Cleanest, Safest and Greenest Inland Body of Water in Region I.

The award was given last March 12, 2013 at the Hotel Ariana, La Union by the Regional Development Council (RDC) Region I and DENR Region I.
